50 AT 50: THE ROAD TO BUDAPEST
TURNING 50.
RACING THE 50.

In April 2027 I turn 50. Thirty-two years after I thought my competitive swimming days were over, I’ve qualified for the U.S. Masters National Championships in Irvine, California, and the Masters World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
So, I’m going for it and using the pursuit to raise $50,000 to support the work of the Spero Project.

THE IDEA
I’m spending the next year training to see how fast I can swim at 50 while using the pursuit to support the work of the Spero Project.
I’ve been volunteering with Spero for a number of years. I thought I was there to help.
It turns out they were making my world bigger.
